Valuing diversity

Contemporary conservation works to find pathways to bring investment from the private sector into nature positive solutions. Kuril & Currawong have strong ties to many of these emerging solutions. This includes:

  • Working to refine, promote and implement Blue Carbon projects

  • Writing and refining standard methods for quantifying and costing ‘co-benefits’

  • Demonstrating ‘best practice’ engagement with Federal and state-based biodiversity offsetting schemes

Carbon & co-benefits

We work with WWF and Accounting for Nature to design, deliver and promote best practice carbon farming in a way that delivers quantified high quality co-benefits for the koala.

Blue carbon

We support Noosa Shire Council to identify risks associated with sea level rise, and where there are opportunities to restore coastal wetlands to abate emissions whilst also supporting the recovery of threatened species.

Nature repair

We are part of teams writing, reviewing and advocating for methods under the Federal ‘Nature Repair’ market. We also provide expert advice for other environmental markets such as Accounting for Nature and the Qld Land Restoration Fund.
